Community Guidelines

ChatLink is a place to hang out with friends and communities. These guidelines keep it a good place for everyone. They apply everywhere on ChatLink: in servers, DMs, profiles, statuses, server names and files.
Be respectful
- Treat others the way you want to be treated. Disagreeing is fine; attacking people is not.
- No harassment or bullying: don’t target, threaten, intimidate or keep messaging someone who wants you to stop.
- No hate: don’t attack people for who they are, such as their origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age.
Keep it legal and safe
- Never share or ask for sexual content involving minors, or try to contact minors in a sexual way. We remove it, delete the accounts involved and report it to the authorities.
- No terrorism, violent extremism, or threats or calls for violence.
- No content that encourages self-harm or suicide. If you’re struggling, please talk to someone you trust or a support line in your country.
- Don’t sell or promote illegal goods, drugs or weapons.
Respect privacy
- Don’t share someone’s personal information (address, phone number, photos and so on) without their permission.
- Don’t record or share calls or private conversations without everyone’s consent.
- Don’t pretend to be someone else, including ChatLink staff.
No spam, scams or malware
- No spam, mass messages or unwanted advertising.
- No scams, phishing, or links to malware. Never ask for someone’s password.
- Don’t use bots or automation without our permission.
Adult and shocking content
- Sexual content and extreme or shocking content are not allowed in public servers, profiles, server icons, banners or descriptions.
- Everyone on ChatLink is 16 or older, but not everyone wants to see everything: respect what others in a server have agreed on.
Respect others’ work
Only share content you have the right to share. Don’t post other people’s copyrighted work without permission.
Server owners and moderators
If you run a server, you set the tone. Make sure your server follows these guidelines, act on problems, and don’t use your powers to harass people.
What happens when rules are broken
Depending on how serious it is, we may remove content, warn you, limit features, or suspend or delete your account or server. For the most serious cases (like child abuse or terrorism), we remove accounts straight away and may inform the authorities.

Use our report form. Tell us where it is and why it’s a problem; we look at every report. In an emergency, contact the police first.
